Hi. I’m Susanne! I advise CEOs and executive teams on fundraising strategy and philanthropy — helping organizations raise more, give more effectively, and build the systems that make their mission sustainable. I work closely with corporate leaders, philanthropists, and mission-driven organizations to turn strategy into action.

I’ve always believed that doing good and doing well go hand in hand. My passion for giving back started as a child —wrapping holiday gifts with seniors at a local nursing home and organizing food drives with my Girl Scout troop in a small Connecticut town. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong commitment to community.

At Villanova, I dreamed of working for the NFL (I made it as far as the lobby!) and studied accounting and finance—two very different paths that surprisingly led me to this work. I discovered community affairs in college and knew I’d found my calling: a way to blend strategy with service.

Before founding Salerno Consulting, I spent over ten years at GBH advising the Board and executive leadership on fundraising strategy and governance, led foundation and philanthropic services at wealth management firm Silver Bridge, and worked in relationship management at Fidelity Charitable. I hold a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation and now teach philanthropic planning at The American College of Financial Services.
